Black Friday has great sales, and the sales post-Christmas Day don’t really compete with those. But the day after Christmas can offer some deep discounts as well. We scoured some big box stores from the surrounding towns as well as our hometown to come up with a pretty big haul.
Finding the Best Sales post-Christmas
Some stores have regular schedules regarding when they discount their toys. I’ve visited area Target stores on the first day of their clearance, but there’s always one store that doesn’t have the discounts until later on – I will skip that one next Dec 26th.
Occasionally, sets that haven’t been available for a while will turn up unexpectedly. In 2015, we found a set that had been retired in 2012 sitting on the shelves of a local Wal-Mart. Sadly, no odd finds on this year’s post-Christmas sales.
It’s a fair bit of running around to different stores in our area, (I visited nine different stores in five cities yesterday and today) but it’s worth it to get the sets to part out into the inventory. And it will keep us busy for a while… until the next sale.
