What is normal? We wrestle with that question every day!
Working at home.
One of the biggest obstacles that we have found with me working at home lies in keeping me working. Kids always want to share something with daddy and what daddy wouldn’t want to take the time to hear what’s on his son’s heart? Boundaries make productivity possible and yet enforcing them can tax an already grieving heart. Today more so than ever, I find it hard to shut the door.
Schooling at home.
We like vacations – but when Little Man has all that extra time on his hands, we want him to go outside and get some energy out. In this part of Texas, late spring temps were already breaking 100, so we took “summer” vacation early. But that means school began again this last week. As a result, Little Man is working hard to get back in the groove as is Wigglesworth (who isn’t in school, but must learn to let mommy teach Little Man).
Getting Back into the Swing of Things.
Grieving takes time and space. But it shouldn’t take all my time. Getting back to work helps keep grief as just one of the many things going on in life. Lots of sets have been parted out recently – today I realized I’m working on the very last set I have at home to part out! Time to get shopping I think, though the Temple of Resurrection – set 70643 – will keep me busy for a bit!
Special Things
We received some really cool sets today (not for part out). Check out these Hans Christian Andersen inspired storybook sets!
