This last week was our church’s VBS. I helped on 2 days, as I figured that’s what I could handle. My experience is that VBS is crazy and overstimulating. Last year, I worked all 5 days and it took me weeks to recover.
This turned out to be the hottest week this year so far. Next week is forecasted to be just as hot, so I’m glad its over.
Little Man had a great time and is utterly exhausted now. We suspect he will need a week to recover.
Adulting
Since the youth did most of the work, I got to be the ‘adult in the room’ most of the time. I did the various things only an adult can do, like take kids to the bathroom and deal with the upset/anxious/tired/bored child. I played many games of dots with kids who finished their art project before class was done.
