Well, life is sometimes crazy, isn’t that true?
In December 2020, we purchased land with the intention to build on it.

In January 2021, Hubby/ The Professor got a nasty case of contact dermatitis from poison ivy.
In May 2021, we started working on a house plan with a draftsman. That was exciting! Adjusting this, changing that. Thinking about what we really wanted in a house.

In fall 2021, The Professor got a chain saw and started felling trees, both to work on clearing the land, but also for firewood. We built 3 wood racks! And all 3 are full!

In this new year, we’ve made progress in all the administrative tasks for building a house. Loan stuff. builder stuff. Oh, crap, there is a water pipe going across this lot stuff. Hehehe… not the rabbit trail you expected?
Yep, we found a water pipe run across one lot that we had planned to put most of the house on. And it was right through the middle. We started asking questions, ’cause that’s what you do! Be nice and polite, but ask questions. We found out, through our sweat and tears, that there was no easement. That pipe was in trespass! We worked it out with the water company that they will move the pipe at their expense and we will grant a defined easement. Just trying to “as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone” Romans 12:18. Or as one good friend says “don’t be a jerk”.
So, we have hopes to break ground in the next few weeks! So exciting!
