Another week!
This week I filed our business personal property tax rendition (first time – yay learning experience!) and our Sales Tax return. I’m getting the hang of all these filings after nine months. After going through a cycle of regulatory filings, these parts of business seem more manageable than they did last summer. That’s what we hope for, now the kids can grow up in an environment where doing such things won’t seem as daunting! I also managed to part out some LEGO® sets as well as acquiring a few more for future inventory.
New sets:
We added a lot of Star Wars minifigures over this last interval. First, I added 30 copies of 75197 – First Order Specialists Battlepack. Everyone loves stormtroopers and they go very well in legions. I also parted out 20 copies of 75198, with Jawas and Sand People.

And finally, I got the black pieces from our Black Friday haul parted out. It only took 4.5 months! There are still several colors to go, but the basic color bricks tend to sell fast. These sets present a challenge in parting out however, since we have 83 copies. As a result, I usually take only a few parts from each bag so that I can get through all of them in a couple hours. Then I can make another run through when I have time again. I was most excited to tell you about the tires from these sets, but they sold out in a matter of hours. We do still have 332 black 2×4 bricks–for the moment.
Coming Soon:
LEGO® celebrates their 60th anniversary this year and has created some special sets to commemorate. The sets are small, with lots of itty-bitty plates and will be showing up very soon in our inventory. We enjoyed reflecting on the fact that, even in the digital age, our favorite toy comes from before any of us were born.
